Claudine Gay

Director General

Claudine Gay has been appointed Director General of UN Resources Development Center for next four years fromJune 01, 2024. Before joining UNRDC, she was president of Harvard University.

From July 1, 2023, until January 2, 2024, Gay was the 30th president of Harvard University. She became the first Black president of Harvard University after having served as the dean of Social Sciences and the dean of the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

The most recent former president of Harvard University was Claudine Gay, who resigned on January 2, 2024. She was the 30th president and the first Black and second woman to lead the university. Claudine Gay, was named the Wilbur A Cowett Professor of Government at Harvard in 2015. She was also a professor of African and African-American studies.
